Help Atrix, did i get a lemon???

Let me start off by saying yes I'm new on here. I had an iphone 3Gs & traded it off because I thought I hated it. I went back to my unlocked Nokia N95 but soon realized I not only liked the iphone more than i thought but also how much i hated the nokia:p

This is my 1st android phone & so far I'm not impressed...

I got this Atrix last Tuesday & I'm at the point of wanting to throw it against the wall. It's stuck on the same notification tone even though that tone is unchecked. I've restarted. Pulled the battery. Nothing fixes that. Even when I switch to silent.. when I get a text I hear that fuggin tone. That's another issue. Silent should be silent!

This crappy keyboard sometimes shows no letters as I type them until the word is typed. It shows weird symbols & stuff instead of the letters i'm typing.

My ipod touch is at least as fast on the net with a wifi signal.

Battery life is awful & it gets very warm from just a little use... like 10 minutes on the phone.

When I type out a text if I hit space and then "&" or any symbol it overrides my space& puts the symbol next to the previous word.

So far I hate this phone... a lot. It seems to me that android is a terrible copy of iOS& the Atrix is just another crappy, poorly finished motorola product. Tell me i'm wrong & I just got a lemon.

It sounds like you did get a lemon. But at the same time, you mary want to try out the htc inspire. I've tried both and the inspire is very smooth and user friendly. Its very good for someone new to android.

Thanks for the reply. I've messed with the Inspire & some Samsung they had at the at&t store & I wasn't all that impressed with either phone. Where I stand now I'm either going to swap this phone for a new & hope for the best or trade for an iphone4. I'm having a hard time deciding which.

I know that at some point given the hardware & openess of android that the Atrix is probably more capable. But at the same time I really like the simplicity of the iphone.
 
I had a lemon. I swapped it out yesterday and everything is gravy! Mine was all kinds of f'ed up! Call AT&T Customer Care and then try Motorla Android Support. I was lucky enough to swap it out no questions asked at the AT&T Store.

Thanks for the reply. I have found more neat little issues so I figured this is the case for me too. Im heading to the att store later this week to swap it out.
 
I just purchased one new off Ebay but I am starting to wonder if it is new. It gets warm to the touch and the SD Card does not read correctly. It mounts and unmounts randomly even after formatting it. I found it odd that when I went to put in the battery the sticker that goes under it on the phone was pulled up in the corner. I checked the imei and it matched in the phone, box and sticker on phone. I am going to try to return it to the seller and get one direct from AT&T.
 
i had been drooling over the ATRIX since it hit the tech magazines and when i finally had the opportunity you bet i jumped right on owning one... i was in heaven, it was great to me, that is until today when it went dead. i was at a friends house so it didnt just randomly go dead it was time for the battery to go out so i put it on the charger waited about 20 minutes and turned the phone back on...what do ya know... my back, search, home, and that other key DOES NOT work at all now, not even my finger print scanner will work when i text if i push S it puts a W if i hit delete it puts L if i hit space it types V,C, or B,and if i touch my back button then my space bar works so basically any letter i touch it acts as if im touching the letter above it. i did a full hard reset on my phone and NOTHIN, same problem. i cant just exit out of a screen, i have to turn the phone off or take the battery out, my phone is completely useless now and ive only had it two months, i dont use it excessively, ive NEVER dropped it, never had water near it, i baby it. i dont understand how my phone can go from being perfectly fine one minute then in 20 minutes in not capable of functioning. it is under warranty but am i going to run into the same issue AGAIN or something similar??? has anyone else experienced this or a problem similar to this?? maybe i can get some tips to keep my sanity until my new one arrives from att.. PLEASE HELP... THANK YOU
