Atrix Hotspot or Verizon Air Card

I've got an Atrix 4g, and a Verizon air card that I use with my laptop. I'd like to eliminate the air card if I can get similar bandwidth from the Atrix Hotspot. (The thinking is that if I get an iPad, I can get the cheaper wi-fi only version and tether it with the Atrix.) I know tht achievable data rates depend on signal strength,etc. Anyone have an experience with the Atrix hotspot?

It will cost you $45 for the 4GB tethering plan for the Atrix. If you don't see yourself going over 4GB a month, its not a bad deal. Not to mention that you can connect up to 5 devices to the Atrix on a secure network.

depends on where you live. i get around 3-5mbps here, as in there is a 4g tower. yes i know 4g has not launched yet, but i happen to live where they are testing.

in general verizon tops out at 1.2mbps and att on 3g tops out at 2.5mbps. but in the coming months you will be closer to me or even faster.
