Atrix, Infuse, or the Inspire?

I was telling everyone I was getting the Atrix, back when it was the Olympus. Now, with all the seemingly dissappointed feed back, I am second guessing my team! I know they all have "things" peope dont like, but, I'm coming from the Iphone 3gs, so this Android world is brand new to me. Can anyone go with the pros and cons and give me info that can assist my decision? LOL! I appreciate the help!

Have you considered reading any of the threads on here? or Youtube?

First off, colors on the screen are washed out compared to the very best screens. The camera is only OK. It's made of plastic. It runs motoblur. It's on AT&T.

Who cares about a dual core CPU, gig of ram, high res screen, 16GB onboard, 1900mAh battery. Or the novel frills of a front facing cam, fingerprint sensor, or hdmi out.

Do yourself a favor and don't buy this piece of garbage, quad-core phone are coming just around the corner.

Another troll to ban...

The common misconception of the Atrix's screen is that its washed out. No. its neutral. its different. most people here are used to AMOLED displays which are overly saturated.

Yes, the phone is made of plastic, but it doesnt feel cheap. It's light weight and sleek and fits well in the hand. The camera is fine, and if you know how to use it, you can get some really nice shots in it. Video capture is where this phone truly shines, and the mic captures the audio very well (I've used this to record videos of band jam sessions and it really sounds good)

Motoblur is very unobtrusive..if you dont like it, hide it with any of the launchers on the market.

yes, its on AT&T, congrats for stating the obvious. While its "4g" speeds are not up to speed yet, its 3g speeds are fine sans the upload speeds which are supposedly going to get a boost in the coming months.

OP needs to ignore all the posts....in fact ignore this forum completely when it comes to buying one of these phones because 90% of the threads are iphone users or new android users who are complaining about problems instead of finding the 10000's of ways of fixing them.

do yourself a favor and just go to a store and try one out side by side to the inspire and see if it meets your expectations. This phone has truly impressed me, and with developers making more and more tegra 2 optimized software and manufactures are making more tegra 2 based phones, you know that this phone will last for a long time and have the apps/software to back it up.

Thank you for your input. I'm a noob, when it comes to this rooting and sideloading and all that. I'm willing to do it, if i need it for major customization, I just want the easiest Android to do it with. I did get to play with the Atrix, but I didn't have a lot of time to compare, and honestly I didn't know what to "look for", so to speak to compare it to my iphone 3gs, tech wise.
I LOVED the screen, on both the Inspire and the Atrix and I love the screen size on the HTC.
I use my phone mainly to surf, use apps, text and lastly call people.

my post was ridden with sarcasm. the atrix is the best device on the market right now. it's a no-brainer. getting the inspire just for it's aluminum body and pointless htc sense ui makes no sense. the thing is a brick and the resolution of the screen doesn't compare.not to mention battery life and that the atrix outspecs it in every category except camera megapixels and build materials.

i played with all of the top devices at the att store and it's really no contest.

some of the complainers on here are people who move from device to device. tech forums are filled with me-first, perfection obsessed, OCD weirdos.

every forum for every device has them.

regarding the infuse, it looks like it will be a very nice device. specs are similar to the atrix. consider whether you'd prefer a larger device or not, because at 4.5" it will be fairly large. you will also be sacrificing some pixel density for the sake of getting a super amoled screen.

sorry haha, for a second i thought it was sarcasm but too many trolls flood this forum now so my judgement was clouded. but yeah you are totally right

Problem with some of the sarcastic posts is that people new to android or new to this phone won't get the sarcasm.

Marc...did you hear anything "official" about the upload speeds being boosted in the coming months? I love my Atrix, but the upload speeds are killing me. I don't mind waiting it out if I knew it was going to change, but not hearing anything from AT&T makes me think that nothing will change.

Here's the closest thing to an 'official' response from Motorola in their forums.

Unfortunately the Atrix 4G does not support HSUPA.

There are a bunch of places that show that his statement is not true, the phone is capable of HSUPA, but something is currently limiting it. I think they're just covering their butt. If you own the phone, go sign up for that forum and voice your opinion in the thread.

There is also a thread with a lot of people asking them to comment on if/when they will make the bootloader accessible.

They havent told the employees anything about it because i think its too much of a technical thing to try to explain to the average employee let alone the average customer,

but from what I've been reading around, AT&T is supposedly upgrading their towers to support HSUPA on phones other than the iphone. They could very well do a software update, but i believe that all non iphones run on the same non-hsupa enabled modems which would make it easier to update the software in their towers rather than update all the phones they have.

thats my theory though. I work for at&t so im kinda stuck here (not that its a bad thing) but if you arent sure and dont want to take a leap of faith, I'd return the phone and wait for verizon to get LTE enabled phones, or if service be willing try out some of the phones on tmobile or sprint. I've seen some impressive speeds on the new galaxy 4g.

I am up in the air about this too....Atrix is what I want but I have iPhone 4 now and I am debating and debating to get Atrix or stay in Apples Jail :( I dont know what to do lol, to many mixed reviews lol

I just switched from the iphone 3gs to the atrix and am VERY happy. This phone is amazing and I am so glad to be back with the android operating system.

I had the iphone 4 on trial for a few days first and it is a really fun phone with great display, but I am tired of feeling 'trapped' by the iphone system - android offers so much more.

The app market is not as big with android, but it is growing every day and for me the apps I want are all their. I am not a big gamer. My young daughter loves apple apps and I know why. The screen resolution is amazing and I have had no problem with my battery so far compared to my iphone. I love being able to customize my phone so much and apple just does not allow you to do that like android does.

I hope this helps some. Good Luck with your choice!
