Help Atrix loses connection to internal and external storage

Hi All,

I have an issue with the UK Atrix where all of a sudden it will stop making any noise on receiving a text and/or any other notification.

It would appear that the phone has a problem reconnecting to internal and external storage (I assume the internal and external sd cards or similar). This issue seems to arise if you dare charge through a laptop using a usb cable.

I know/guess this because when I restart the phone I can see a particular tone I wish to use for notifications, after connecting to a computer and then disconnecting - or indeed just after a while, I cannot find that same tone on the list of notifications available.

I have read on other forums that you need to safely disconnect the usb devices if you have connected to your computer, but I have tried this and it does not help.

Even the stock tones seem to not work either, which is damn annoying

Does anyone have any other ideas, I cannot find a solution that works

Ah ha, who would have thought there would be two places to set what tone is in use - both in the notification settings and in the text message settings... I love sensible UI design
Still does not explain how the setting got changed, since it clearly was not by me, but at least it is fixed
