Atrix running v2.2 ..Show stopper?

So is the v2.2 Atrix a big show stopper for you on this forum?

I just newbie, looking for first smartphone, but software/hardware engineer by trade, and maybe i should give a crap right now eh?

Not a show stopper as Android 2.4 will be coming out next month or so and it offers dual core support, Android 2.3 doesn't.

I don't know if you know this, but 2.3 and 2.4 are gingerbread. 2.4 is only going to have minor changes. I believe you are thinking about 3.0 which is honeycomb.

As for the Atrix, I wouldn't call it show stopper. But it is definitely a very nice device. I want VZW to get a phone compatible with the laptop dock.

Honeycomb won't be coming to phones, that's what the version after it is for. (Icecream? icecream sandwhich?) It's suppose to merge the phone and tablet versions. I'm just waiting for hardware acceleration on phones. It's LONG overdue.
