Help Atrix4G not logging calls answered by Voicemail

I have AT&T. My Atrix 4G does not log a missed call when voicemail takes the call. I see the VM indicator light up on the phone, but no missed call in the call log. Is this normal behavior for this phone? I called ATT and they want me to do a master reset and/or send the phone back for replacement.

Its annoying when you get a voicemail and the caller tells you to call him back and does not leave a number assuming that his number will be recorded in your call log.
