Help ATT Thrill Freezes Up

bobinyelm

Newbie
Tried to post this last night, but it didn't appear.

My ATT LG Thrill freezes randomly when not being used. I'll turn the unit on, only to find that my phone has logged calls, but they didn't ring, or go to voice mail.

In addition, the time displayed is often hours behind time, as if the phone went into suspended state unaware of passing time (or calls/events during the sleep).

I have to de-power the phone and re-boot to get the current time to display and for the phone to be usable.

I searched, but couldn't find any identical complaints here, and the local ATT store futzed around for about an hour, but with no remedy.

Hello and welcome to the forums . I see your having trouble with a lg device . May i ask have you been to the lg web site to update the device within the past 6months . Major updates to the device and drivers for the device you may want to download the LG TOOL and update the device . Post back with the results

Try this to see if updating is needed.

Yes-The phone was updated only a couple of months ago when virtually every APP said that it needed a newer version software on the phone.

The problems started after that upgrade.

Would I correctly assume that after downloading the LG Tool, I would connect my phone via a USB cable, and the Tool would find the phone, and determine what new software would be needed to get it up to date?

Thanks-
Bob

Ok did you try again but this time when it say updates are current . Go to the box in the top right corner . A drop down will occur go and select the option update recovery this will take a while maybe 45-50 minutes .

Tried several times to download the LG Tool and continually get "lgtool_220.exe Failed-Network Error" while all other online services worked fine on my computer.

Maybe I'll need to do it from a better/faster Internet. Ours at home is barely 1meg/s because we live in the country

ATT said the phone was totally obsolete and not worth messing worth*, but until we're eligible for a new phone, we'd like to keep it working at some acceptable level. It amazes me that these things are too obsolete to even use after less than 2 years.

*ATT said the Samsung Galaxy IV was the only phone they actually recommend now.

Hey i understand that but at&t don't see things like you and i . Don't listen to them cause keep in mind they sold you the phone when it worked . They pushing updates to the phone caused it to be like this and the easy way to fix is tell a customer that they need a newer phone that will give them money ,we pay the bill andthey get money. Its all money but they wont help us with telling us what is wrong with this .
But try a stronger computer and see if it repair cause the updates was said to repair devices with odd problems . And as you see that's from the lg web site .

Yes the lg tool and this gives you the drivers and also the software update you need to fix the device . Even if the drivers say they are on already do them again .
