So.. Im Running Dirty Unicorns V 4.2.2 And My Alarm In The Morning Nor Is My Music Any wear As Loud As It Is On some Roms. no play store equalizers work and dsp manager wil not install. any advice?

Just to refresh your mind, since you assist so many. You assist me with the AlienDroid mod rom. I would like my text notifications/ring tones tad louder. Is there audio booster or enchancer you can recommend. Link on this thread shows for sprint, not Virgin Mobile. I've messed around with the Beats Boost, under DSP Manager. App that won't mess with this AlienDroid rom.

Do you really have to be on a Non-Sense ROM to use Acid tho?

If you set it up right, sense shouldn't matter

If you diffed a bunch of configs from roms

this is one: /system/etc/audio_effects.conf is an important file(including having the lib files it mentions in the file)

libs are in /system/lib and effect libs are usually in /system/lib/soundfx(the audio_effects.conf will tell you where they go)

Brian706: Thought I'd start with the Acid audio mod, what's the install process.

Running: AlienDroid 1.0
4ext recovery

I downloaded the zip file for acid mod 10.0, steps to install. Do I need to follow steps like clearing cache, like did with the jellybean mods?? etc.

Where did you get version 10? On their page they are on version 7. And the instructions they list are:

8. Reboot

I was going to say something along the lines of stare at your phone till it does what you want it to, referring to The Men Who Stare At Goats, but that would be as pointless as this reply is anyway

Brian706: my bad, remember new at this. The link posted above by negamann303, goes to xda. acid audio port 10.0. I need to read better. I will follow your steps. Thanks for the help.

I'm still learning the lingo for Android rooting. Only been on the site for a week now. Give me the newbies instructions for this:

3.Flash the downloaded file in CWM (First 2802 then 2805 then Clear Audio). I'm using 4ext again. On the Aliendroid 1.0.

Well the instructions might be different for their port. Mobz said just wiping cache and dalvik should be fine for that version ;)

So are you flashing Version 7 or the 10.1 port? 4ext recovery is fine and will work.

The AC!D audio mod in the Evo 3D themes and apps forum on XDA is out of date now and I'd recommend using the version on the developers page at this point. The reason the one in the Evo 3D forums was created is because the older versions of AC!D didn't work on the Evo 3D/V without being modified but the current one does. There are also conflicts in that version between other enhancements like the walkman player and noozxoide equalizer that have been resolved on the developers version.

So if understand ramjet73, I should use the 10.1 port. I was going to flash the version 7. Being new to the site. I don't understand #7 on Brian706 posting.

So I should be fine clearing the cache and flashing the acid zip file??

No, just the opposite.

The developer's version is at v7 and that's the one you should use with the instructions posted above. The numbering scheme for the mod in the XDA Evo 3D forums makes it sound newer but it's not.

So will be flashing v7. On step 7 above. Can you walk me thru that step. Once my phone reboots. What am I doing to complete this step. Lost me there.

Yes sorry, I had missed that you were having trouble with that step.

There should be an app on your phone called terminal emulator. If not, download it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...1bGwsMSwxLDMsImphY2twYWwuYW5kcm9pZHRlcm0iXQ..

From the Acid page download the autofix widget from Method two at the bottom:
Method 2(Thanks to Deliquified for the tip)
Type

Code:
su mount -o rw,remount /system aaengine

Other[Apps tweeks etc]

Click here to download audiofx widget

That is an .apk (app) that you will need to put on your sd card and install.

Then step seven open terminal emulator type su [hit enter/return key on keyboard after typing each thing]

the prompt should now display this symbol: #

So then type: mount -o rw,remount /system [hit enter/return]

Then type: aaengine [hit enter/return]

That will run a script and it will tell you when it's complete. Then restart phone :)

brian706: I want to thank you for your help, since found this site. On another site, (won't mention) when asked a question. I was told if your to stupid to understand what that stands for, you won't be able to root your android.

i'm sure you experts would like us new folk to learn the basics and lingo. So on step# 3, it refers to the cwm or clock work mod. I'm flashing file from 4ext this v7 file. Do I need this clock work mod?? Using 4ext will I be given the option to flash First 2802 then 2805. How to clear the audio. Thanks again.

It's no problem :) I never understood why people are rude like that. Isn't a forum for asking questions? If you don't want to answer questions, why are you even there??

4ext is based off of Clockwork Mod and CWM is not recommended for this device. Stick with 4ext. Yes you will have the option of which one to flash. Put them all on your sd card, and when you choose to install from sd card, select the 2802 first. When it's finished, choose install again, and then pick 2805. Then clear audio.
