Amazon.com: Audio FM Transmitter / Internet Music Vehicle Adapter with integrated Car Charger for the Motorola Droid X - uses Gomadic TipExchange Technology: Electronics

Just ordered one of these to stream Pandora and whatnot whilst in the car through the FM radio. I don't have one of those input thingies and I opted to go with this over a "Bluetooth" solution as I liked not having to have yet another charger or worry about the bluetooth battery plus this is supposed to charge/power the droidX all at the same time.

?,, Anyone have this or a similar product with any comments?

I had one for my iPod...not the best sound, but if that's all you can use, then go for it. I have one car with an AUX jack and one car without, so I may need to get one of these as well.

I'm interested to see how this works out. I'm too cheap to buy a new radio for my car to have an input for music. Looking forward to any impressions you may be able to give.

Let me know how this goes. I need to purchase a new one as my cable has been dying lately. I've been in the market. POST BACK ASAP.

We just bought a cheap one from walmart for $15, and it works great! It takes rechargable aaa batteries, and we wanted our car cig lighter free for the phone charger.

Personally, I have never found anything with any FM transmitter that I am happy with. It always seems that the signal strength and audio is poor. Also the radio is always fighting your transmitter for control over the frequency you chose and forget about it if you are traveling because you will constantly be needing to alternate your frequency to maintain a signal. Best bet is to get phone audio in car stereo is a hard wired auxiliary input. If you don't already have one available in your car then you may be able to buy a conversion auxiliary unit (like US Spec or Pie) from Crutchfield which will also charge your device. I hate to post this since you already bought the thing and I hope it works for you, but if you are unhappy then return it and look into a hard-wired solution.

Well, we are having no issues at all with the one we purchased, and the audio on it rocks. We travelled from Western NC 3 hours highway down to Atlanta, and never had any issues at all.

Of course, YMMV, but we are MORE than surprised and pleased with the fm transmitter from walmart. Only thing we need to do is make sure we use charged batteries, otherwise the low batteries can cause understandable sound distortion.

One regular set of batteries lasts about 3 weeks though with at least 2-3 hours a day use.

Mind sharing the item name, number or description? Too lazy to dig it up.;)

ive got the usa spec aux input adapter in my car already, so all i ever worry about is the charger. i never had any luck with the fm transmittes sounding good. even one hardwired into power and directly inline to the antenna.

Good thing walmart has a refund policy..l buy one, try it, and if you dislike it, return it for a refund.

Thanks for the feedback. Should be here in the next day or so and after some use, I will be sure to update -> with a mini-review here in this thread.

Having had this a few days now, I must say I'm pleased enough to have purchased. Whilst the audio might not be 'top notch' audiophile speaking as the highs & lows are a bit muted and the midrange overpowers a bit, all and all this device delivers a reasonable music sensation and clear audio.

The charger end of things seems above avg also in comparison to some knock off brand charger I had been using purchased at the flea market some weeks back, this one continues a positive and fairly rapid charge even with streaming radio/GPS/Ect... so it seems thus far.

On a scale of 1-10 I would rate the following as:

Audio qualitiy = 6
Charging capacity = 9
Ease of use = 9
Overall Usability = 8

Summary: For what it is it works flawlessly and as advertised.
