Help Audio not very loud on Note?

I listen to audiobooks when on a long journey in the car with the family. With the Desire I had, I plugged into Aux and listenened through Winamp with Desire on max volume and turning up and down on car stereo as needed. With the Note when I do this the volume just isn't loud enough. At motorway speeds we're straining to hear what's being said.

As you can imagine, there's been a bit of p*** taking about the fact that this large phone doesn't play very loudly! Please can anyone help?

When you plug in the aux the note will automatically decrease the audio volume so you have to turn it up again. Note sure if you are aware of this but maybe this is contributing to the problem you are experiencing.

Ah, thanks will check that as I just assumed that as I had it on max it was still there. I do have an external speaker which is great but don't really want to use it in the car.
