Audio not working

Ok my galaxy s2boost mobile I've had it about a year now and rooted with pacrom flashed to it there is no audio in. The calling speaker when placing and receiving calls headphone jack the rear speaker no notification sounds and the alarm which even sounds through the rear speaker when headphones are plugged in doesn't work I've checked silent mode all sound settings etc. Thought this was a software issue so I restored an earlier backup nothing still I reflaashed the ROM still nothing so flashed back to stock in odin which would completely troubleshoot the software nothing helped so now I know that this is now a hardware issue I could send it to samsung to get a repair but that's more than I wanna spend to fix a phone when I may go to s3 or s4 anyway now that were on the same page would anyone know what connected to the motherboard would have shorted or malfuntioned to cause this I would prefer to fix this my self I'm capable of doing the repair I've worked on many laptops in my time what peice would I have to order to fix this

Are you referring to no one being able to hear you? That is what "Audio in" is, and that is your phones mic. You post is a little jumbled together. I believe your description is for "Audio Out".

Did you try cleaning the headset jack for that to make sure your audio is not being shorted out, which sometimes tricks the phone into thinking a headset is plugged in it.

Due to the small thin nature of the GS2, repairing it in nothing like working on a laptop, and can be easily damaged further.
