Audio Problems

Guys - I've had my rezound for 3.5 weeks, and before yesterday I loved it. I heard a loud pop in my left earbud yesterday, and then bad static. I did a battery pull and a reboot. While it improved the situation a little, there is still a noticeable beep in the left earbud whenever I start the music player and whenever I push the power button. The music now also seems less loud in the left earbud than the right, and not as clear.

Any idea what could be going on? I guess ill visit the Verizon store tomorrow and see what my options are?

Plug in a different set of earplugs. Sounds like you were listening to the music too loud. If you were listening to the music too loud, take this into consideration, you can replace the earphones, but if you were to damage your hearing then good luck replacing your eardrums.

It had nothing to do with loudness of music. I tried 3 different earphones. It's a problem with the phone, not the earbuds.

I have been having the same issue. Left side whether it's my headphones or stereo tape deck thingy for the car, only happens when I have them plugged in and no music or audio playing. It's some sort of electrical feedback.

I knew I wasn't nuts! I just got this phone on saturday and the feedback is driving me nuts. I took it back to the store and Verizon won't exchange it! I thought had 14 days to return it for any reason I wanted!

You can return it in that time window, ask for a manager.

The manager was the one who refused to return it. He said I had to be able to recreate the problem in the store. Since I didn't know what caused it, I couldn't. I went back again and was able to exchange it. Second one does the exact same thing, but I figured out the culprit. The feedback only happens when the touch buttons on phone light up. If they stay dark, no feedback. Whats the fix??

I'm currently going back and forth with HTC on this issue. They said that there was an update that was supposed to fix the issue and directed me to this website: HTC Mobile Phone Support - HTC Rezound? (Verizon) - Downloads. I already had that update on my phone. I told them that and then they suggested I do a factory reset because perhaps the phone didn't process the update fully. Well... just did it and the static is still there. I am about to let them know. It has to be a software problem, perhaps a hardware problem (which would be bad), so Im not going to try to exchange the phone if it's just going to have the same problem. In the meantime, I got bluetooth headphones and it bypassed the problem. But, I don't think everyone is going to be willing to pay for them. They are really cool though. I'll update this thread with the progress.
