August 26??!! Release Date

That's according to LA Examiner. Don't know where he's getting his info, but here is what he says:

Sprint subscribers can still get the Epic 4G (Los Angeles Best Buy locations here), but they may want to wait another month when the Epic Touch 4G is released. This is Sprint

Doubt it is released August 26th, I wouldn't get my hopes up if I was waiting on this. That way if it is released by some miracle at that time, everyone will be ecstatic. If not, no big deal. September seems like a solid release, but I would be shocked to see the Bionic and a 4g SG2 released on the same day though.

I wish all Verizon customers a quick and speedy release and pray for one for us on Sprint.

All should be able to enjoy the SG2 now, man I cannot wait.

I too found it extremely hard to believe that the Bionic and Stratosphere would be dropping the same day. That just doesn't seem like a smart idea. Does that usually happen? In which two or more powerful and long desired phones come out the same exact day??

I just felt that that document in which we saw the release date for Stratosphere and others was completely fabricated. I mean there was an extreme lack of information and just pointless information placed in the last column.

A document like that is also very easy to create and the fact that Excel was open as well just seems very fishy to me.

I just wish for hard evidence of information declaring actual release dates for any phone. This is just extremely annoying.

I hope that is true but doubt it. Also nobody knows for sure what the stratosphere even if and it was said on the leaked to be launching sept 8. Plus no source in this article so probably just guessing that is when the stratosphere will launch.

Poking around, the author often attributes Verizon information to "Los Angeles based analyst Paul Mueller". He was the source of the tidbits that SGS2 would be coming first to Verizon and the original "possible" August 12 release date. I don't know who Paul Mueller really is but given the overall accuracy of the tips and rumors that are attributed to him, there is the impression that this is coming from a real insider source of some kind.

Plus, Sammy CEO said SGS2 was coming to the States in August, right? It's all conjecture in any case. I'm in no hurry now, I got a Windows Mobile phone off Ebay for $20 to hold me over until if/when I can get the phone I want.
