Help Auto Brightness not working

My auto brightness seems to have suddenly stopped. It used to work fine, but now it simply doesn't work.

Does anyone have this problem or know of a solution?

Yeah, sounds like it unfortunately.

Make sure it's not dirty or smudged (although I'm sure that would be obvious), then maybe give it a reboot.

If it's still broke, I'd give Google/LG a call.

Ok, thanks.

Just thinking ahead. I've rooted the phone & installed a custom kernel, I guess the phone would have to be set to stock for a warranty to be upheld?

Yeah, and the bootloader relocked too.

If you're running a custom recovery you could try a different ROM/kernel? Might work, might not but it saves sending it away if it does.

I've had a few times when the light sensors appears to stop working like you've described. Sometimes it seems to happen in conjunction with certain apps (particularly any that use screen overlays, for some reason), but sometimes it's just random. A reboot nearly always clears it up.

I use tasker to turn my screen brightness down at night, so maybe thats causing it some problems. The reboot cleared it, so its no big issue now :)
