Help Auto-brightness problems

I just got the Charge and it's great, but if I turn the autobrightness on, the phone usually dims to a point where you can barely make out the image on the screen. At this point I've got it set on the maximum brightness with auto-brightness turned off; even so, sometimes when I hit the power button to turn on the screen it comes up dimmer than usual. I have to turn off the screen and turn it back on and hope it brightens up to a usable level.

Is this something others have noticed? Or should I get a replacement?

I second potterdood's suggestion of getting it replaced. The auto-brightness works very well for me; much better than the Thunderbolt ever did. I find the Charge's auto-brightness levels to be quite perfect in all different lighting situations. On the TB, it would never dim past 50% even in complete darkness; that was awful and a large battery waste.

I've noticed the same problem... However, I think I found that it depends on how much battery life is left. If it gets "low" it looks like it will "auto-adjust" to the next lowest setting...
