Help auto brightness

Okay ive had a g nexus since launch day and auto bright worked perfectly. I work outside so that is important. My charging port stopped working so verizon had to send me a mew one. The auto brighness on tgis one doesnt work at all the brightness does noy change and i cant read or see my phone outside now. Is there a fix or do i needanother nexus.

Rom is irrelevant but yes stock, its irrelevant becuase my original gnex didnt have the problem. and yes i can manually turn brighntess up and down but i shouldnt have to do that my fascinate auto bright worked properly and so did my original gnex. and no the charger wasnt bad tried several chargers,batteries, outlets and even did factory reset.

But any ideas guys id really hate to have to get another gnex sent to me because of this.
