Dear fellow android users,
My phone is a Samsung Galaxy Attain 4G from MetroPCS. I've had the phone for over a year (got it March '12) and have never had any issues whatsoever until now. On the way home my phone just all of a sudden began to restart over and over again. It goes in this order > Samsung screen > black screen > samsung screen. I have:
- Tried hard resetting via the power key, volume up key, and home key. I get to the recovery menu, but the phone will reboot making it hard/impossible to press any options (I can barely even read them because the phone reboots so fast). Also, it seems like after spamming the down key and pressing the home key to make the selection, the phone just reboots itself anyways.
- Taking the battery out and putting it back in. It seems as though the phone itself is not shut off but constantly on? There is nothing wrong with my power button. It presses down normally. When I put the battery back in, I am directly at the Samsung screen, so I guess it's acting as though the power button is constantly held down, even though it's not.
Called metro PCS: Useless/suggested the hard reset method that I tried already.
metro pcs store: will order a new phone for $25. This is a solution but obviously I don't want to pay $25 when I have no idea what's going on especially considering there is nothing of my doing causing the phone to act this way.
I was thinking about seeing if I can get a screwdriver and open it to see if anything is up with the power key (metropcs CS rep mentioned this might be the issue), but I admit I don't have much of a clue of what I'm doing. Do I need to just fork over the $25? Is my phone done for (out of nowhere..)?
