auto-rotate screen issue

First time posting here. Does anyone have the problem after flashing a ROM (noticeably JB based) that the auto rotate stops working? This issue does not involve the settings or toggles. All settings are set to auto rotate but the launcher nor apks auto rotate (ie, browser) After what seems like weeks google-ing the issue, I found that if I flash "Wild for the Night" rom, the auto rotate works just fine. When I flash any other rom (personally tried: PAC in Black, ICS Explode, TBSG3, TBSG4, Project X, and a few others) the auto rotate stops working. I have themed several roms for other devices and have always customized roms so although I am by NO means an expert, I do know my way around roms so I do not consider myself a noob. I have no idea why this happens so if anyone has this issue or better yet a fix for this issue, I would love to know it (I really miss flashing the new roms). Sorry if this has been addressed, I have not found it here in the forums.:confused:
 
On the stock TW JB ROMs for this phone, auto rotate does not work for the launcher screen nor app drawer. They do work for things like Dolphin Browser, Groove IP, etc. If you are wanting to go from an AOSP ROM to a Touch Wiz JB rom like TBGS4 or Project X, I suggest you do a one click install of the Stock TW JB first to make the partition changes that occurred (new /preload partition), then follow the instructions for the ROM you wish to try from its OP (flashing the JB 2x wipe for touch Wiz JB etc).
 
I have heard that the stock TW launchers do not auto rotate, but a friend of mine has the same phone (fully stock, no root) and his phone auto rotates with no problem.:confused: This is the main reason I started this thread. Is his phone a fluke? I also tried flashing other AOSP roms and had the same problem. So far the only rom that seems to work is "Wild". I have tried the rotate apk listed in the post, and it only worked sporadically at best with the TW based roms. When i originally flashed to the TBSG3 rom i did the flash to stock with the JB 2x. Could something have gotten borked with the flash? Should I try starting over again? The main problem is that the browser apks (opera, dolphin, boat, chrome, etc..) do not rotate. This is a pain when using the thumb keyboard. (I have checked the diagnostics on the phone, and everything checks good and functional) I will try the modded launcher and see what that does. Thanks all for the info so far :).
 
I know it sounds like a pain, but backup all your personal data (pictures etc) and do a full restore (the one that wipes data) of a stock ROM (rooted is fine), then go from there. The stock launcher doesn't auto rotate, but as bilgerryan pointed out, there is a modified launcher that does. My guess is something may have been borked on your first flash.
 
Finally had time to "start from scratch". Had to go back to stock JB and installed Project X 3.? (newest version). Everything as far as the auto rotate issue is working now. Must have been a borked install from the first time. Thanks for all the help.:)
