Help Auto rotate stopped working

Auto rotate on my LG G3 stopped working. I downloaded the advanced tools app and discovered my x axis is stuck.
Any idea how to get the x axis to release so the thing will rotate?

There is a post on another forum where a user solved his issues by letting the device fall [again]. I am not sure I recommend that, but if you have already tried everything else (reboots, etc.), it might be considered.

I use an app called Rotate from the Play Store to handle my rotation needs, and I have been very happy with it.

I read that thread and installed the app and did see that my x axis was frozen. I'm really Leary of dropping the phone purposely.
I'll try the app you use to control rotation.
I already contacted LG and they recommend a hard reset of which I don't want to do.

I used the rotation locker app which works well with the quick settings in the drop down notification bar.
