Help Auto-rotation problem.

[calicyc]

So, I helped my hubby updated his Vibrant to froyo after making sure froyo worked fine on mine.

Unlike me, he didn't do anything fancy to the phone, he just used the stock home launcher, and the stock apps. Phone's not rooted.

I am using a home replacement (Go launcher EX, great app!!) app so the home screen auto-rotates when my phone is on landscape mode. His doesn't.

My question is, does auto-rotate only works when browsing emails or web and doesn't work when at home screen and/or app drawers?

His phone is running froyo now. Everything else works fine.

I've got a quick add-on to Calicyc's question. Today my phone stopped going into landscape mode with texts and browsers. It still goes landscape for games and other "forced" things. Any ideas or has anyone else had problems with this? My roomate has the same problem and has had for a while. He just gave up on it.
