Help AUTO TEXT on Word???

Do you mean auto-replace, auto-cap, auto punctuate or word prediction? I'm not sure what "auto text on word samsung moment" means...please clarify.

Sounds like that's what he means.

Yes it's there on the Samsung Moment. I have it set up but don't recall where. My Samsung Moment has the battery removed and drying, since I installed the Phantom Skinz late last night. Will wait a bit more to dry before I place battery back and turn on.

Like I said my Android phone is powered off after clear skin install.

From the Samsung Moment user guide, here is what it says:

MENU > Settings > Locale & text, choose Locale, under Text settings, option 2 - Android Keyboard, options 1-6 have to do with keyboard settings (ie #5 show suggestions, #6 auto-complete - make sure these are turned to ON).

Going back then to option 3 under Text settings, is Device Keyboard, there are 3 options - auto-replace, auto-cap, auto-punctuate. Turn these on as well.

Once my phone is back up and running I'll see if my settings are the same.

Hi androidSPCS, but where is going to create on filed from AutoText ???????????? I already checked on all done.

what do u Understand about AutoText Entry - Create filed where ???

example:
tx = Thank you
gnite = Good night
gm = Good Morning

There's a setting to create your own dictionary words based on what you type. You'll have to play with it to see if it's possible to do what you are asking.

For me, typing "th" brings up "Thank" as a word and I either press space and let it fill that in, or click on another word to populate, and enter "yo" and it will suggest "you".

So I type 'th <space> yo' and it will fill in with the right words for me.

Hi AndroidSPCS, i

You're going to have to mess with it and try it out. I am only using the factory auto-replace at this point, and have not entered my own words for replacement.

You've gotta be willing to roll up your sleeves and experiment. This phone is so new that I'm experimenting and learning by trial and error. It's the best way to learn.

Good luck.

yeah, the autotext is only good for the handcent... i haven't figured out yet whether there is a way to do it for all the other applications such as email.

I wish Auto Text (create filed) than one, if you will find one best for Android Market have new feature for add setting then tell me ok. i want includes email n sms too.

Just to clarify, what you're asking for is not auto-texting, it's aliasing. When you type an alias, ie TY, it translates it into Thank You. That would be a nice optional feature to have, but it also could result in frustration if you accidentally type "TY" when you meant to type "TO" and it inserts "thank you" instead.

So as an option it would be nice.
