Auto Volume Change

So I listen to music quite a bit on my phones, using Pandora mostly- (don't hate I like my stations)

however I'm running into a very annoying problem with my G2- and that is it automatically changes my volume down all the time. I hate this setting, but cannot find where I can remove it.

I haven't rooted it, but surely they have to have a way to turn that off.

Interesting, could you explain a bit more. Does it automatically lower the set volume, or is it something perceived? For instance, they have a setting that increases volume in noisy environments, but doesn't actually change the volume setting.

Is this for headphones or external speaker, or combination? Are you plugging headphones in, it automatically lowers volume, and when you remove headphones it keeps the external speaker volume lower?

Or even an app setting?

Just curious as I haven't seen this issue and would like to replicate it.

I can duplicate this, sho I duplicate it everyday. This is from the headphones volume, and u have to be streaming music for about 30mins to get this high volume warning. This can be very annoying especially since my music is not that loud to begin with.

I did create a help and support thread to ask this question but that thread gave up the ghost. I was going to email LG support to ask how to remedy this but I haven't had the chance.

Hopefully someone know how to turn this off. Apart from this I could'nt be happier with any smartphone.

This is very annoying.. In addition to the automatic volume change, every time I get a text while my headphones are on, the volume lowers then raises back to the level that I'm listening while giving me the volume warning notification. Hope there's a fix for this soon. My only work around for now is to put my phone on silent while my headphones are in. That way, any alerts that come in while I'm listening to music are automatically silenced.

You might want to take a look at this app from the play store. Not sure if it requires root or not. Don't have my phone, had to return it to get the edge plan :( and then buy it again.

OK, so it does relate to the volume notification warning.

Welcome to the wonderful world of lawyers involved in product design. Make sure you don't remove that mattress tag before selling it. LOL.

Under root settings, there is a way to turn this off. I'd have to look it up, and haven't done it myself, but the wiz kids over at XDA have the notification shut off.

so I contacted LG Support, and this is the reply I received.

"I do apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

The feature you are inquiring about is part of the Android operating system and there is no setting option on the phone which will allow you to disable it.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions or concerns. Thank you again for contacting LG Electronics."

I don't know how this is in the android operating system since none of my android phones have this issues. Hopefully they fix this in the future.

I always hesitate to promote root as a solution but I am not kidding...if you guys have not experienced this phone with the Viper4 mod, you are seriously missing out. Over earphones/earbuds in particular, it's like night and day. Almost inexplicable how good it sounds. I see now how the Beats concept has made so much money. It's not as much the quality of the hardware, it's the software that makes the magic happen.
