Help AutoKiller App maybe can fix reboot issue!!!

V.J. Vanh

Newbie
I just notice when the ram goes below 10%, it reboots itself. AutoKiller app helps the phone to react fast and prevent ram to go too low. I preset the setting on this app to ultimate performance. so far it didn't reboot after hard used. It has been a day without reboot, but I will keep you guy update to see if this really fix reboot issue. I bought the full version of it.

Thank you for the contribution; heck of a lot more effort than either Metro or LG thus far.

Just because LG/Metro dont work at the pace you think they should doesnt mean they arent. Actually they are making a quick effort if you look how long it took the OM to get their update to fix the rebooting issue.

The Esteem is suppose to be Metro's flagship phone right now. Looks pretty bad when the phone has had rebooting issues for several weeks now. Before the reboot issue, it had the phone freezing update issue.

LG is not on my good side right now.

Better than the indulge, that's for sure! ;) I personally have not had that problem, and I think a solution may be near :)

Well it seems i am in the other side of the boat. Nothing had happened to my phone therefore it is a great upgrade i have made ever .and i'm willing to upgrade if they ever release am dual core with hd display and with 1GB ram.

Their effort at getting a phone that does not allocate RAM properly, or whatever this phone's problem is, certainly went fast enough for them to make money off us. What should have happened is that Metro and LG should have released a phone that worked the first time. It has nothing to do with pace; it has everything to do with a shoddy company playing fast and loose with our products. I appreciate their concern at getting it right this time, but it is not fair to tell paying customers that companies cannot go at their pace. If that is the case, then get out of the market because you can't produce what you promise.

Well under your own statement every single Android phone and maker is a shotty phone and company. Go read the Phandroids news feed and youll see probably updates to fix bugs in every single phone and phone company. Nothing works 100% on every phone and not every phone is 100% bug free. So my suggestions is to switch OS's or ditch smart phones all together and go back to flip phones. The weird thing is I havent had a single problem with mine. So just sayin, some of the problems people are having are probably coming from user error.

I completely agree and approve this statement! lol

I agree with this, also. And while it is definitely not an isolated incident with this particular phone, os, or company, that doesn't make it right. Cutting edge technology can be a fickle b*tch!

i've turned my Data off on my lg esteem and so far it hasnt rebooted in 16 hrs 45 min .. also its been unplugged for 22 hrs and has 41% battery left.

Edit: it rebooted after 21 hrs up time

So far so good, no reboot:) I play with this phone with the help of this autokiller app, it did not reboot itself for almost two days. Also the phone seem to be more responsive. I will continue to use this app until the real update.

Not just phones; it's most of the products that we buy. Even if all companies do this it does not make it right. It just means many are wrong.

I'm glad to see that we have a discussion going about this. It's nice to have intelligent conversation with others and share ideas.

I believe Aplus mentioned in another thread that he does not believe the phone allocates memory properly. Normally, these auto-killer apps are supposed to be bad for native RAM management -- at least I read an article claiming that. But, if this phone does not do that properly now then maybe this is a workable solution? Your results suggest that it is.

I believe Aplus also mentioned that our Esteems have the same amount of RAM as the M. Maybe he could talk more on this point. He -- and others here -- know much more than I do and I think we might consider this more deeply...

I hope our devs will feel free to weigh in...

Bugs and issues come with the territory when trying to invent something new or better or stretch the limits. You just have to expect it and deal with it if you want the newest best thing. You can test a product for 5 years and then release it and I bet a million bucks within 3 months or even years later a problem will flare up that requires a fix. Take the car industry for instance. They have recalled parts on cars that were made in the mid 90's in like 09 and didnt realize and/or a problem didnt flare up till a decade later! Or take the Xbox 360 for instance they talked about the 360 for years and tested the crap out of it and within a year of releasing it the red ring of death started happening.

If you want the "latest and greatest" in technology you have to expect and know not everything is going to run and be 100% bug free right off the bat.

+1 on that.. This phone is only 2 months out the door with the latest OS minus ics.. if it is ram management then it can be fixed.. At least they are rrod'n knock on wood :)

You guys, I recommend getting this app because it keep your phone fresh. so far I'm loving this app even though it didn't fix the reboot problem. it keep my RAM above 30%, making my phone more responsive.

I recommend memory booster over this app.

lol, woah. thats a new one too!!!.. well anyways, i have tried TONS of those apps and i came to a conclusion that with "memory booster", "Gemini task killer widget" and "gemini app manager" my phone RUNS PRETTTYYY smooth with heavy widgets on Go launcher screen. so yeah, i finally found what i was looking for.!!

note: i made a test, where i loaded up tons of heavy apps including games and as i expected my phone was killing apps as my RAM usage was reaching at 36%... man now i can do whatever i want and...:D
