Root AutoKiller Memory Optimizer?

Android Enthusiast
I have been reading up on a few things here New In CyanogenMod 7: Support For Native Screenshots, Touch-To-Focus Camera, Droid Incredible 2 (it's basically an in-depth informative page about Cm7, rooting, rom'ing, bootloaders and bunch of other cool stuff that us root folk are in to... a good read for anyone who's interested) and came across AutoKiller Memory Optimizer...

I for one am not a fan of task killers, I used to be an avid task killer user but after researching what they do and realizing that in most cases they actually negatively impact the phones' performance I was no longer. I've been task killer free for 6+ months now and haven't had any problems. My question to everyone is: Is AutoKiller Memory Optimizer any different, or is it just more of the same task killing with a pretty new interface?

I like the idea behind killing tasks, but if it is going to just cause the same issues as before I'd rather not. Has anyone / Is anyone using this on the Ally and if so what did you think?

It is not a task killer. it optimizes the low-level memory settings of the Android OS itself. I usually run it on the ultimate setting. It actually helps the device to determine what needs to be running and what can be stopped, it does it on the fly. It actually works well with phones with lower memory (such as the Ally) to keep it snappy.

I see, I think i'll give it a go an see what happens... so far so good. With it set at ultimate I picked up an extra 30 megs of memory.
