Autolock when charging

Just a quick question, I have a car kit for my desire that has an FM transmitter so that I can listen to my music from my desire through my standard car radio and was just wondering if there is an easy way to make the screen not autolock while the phone is charging as it's not exactly safe having to unlock the phone to change the song. I know I could switch the autolock off in the settings but was just wondering if there was a way it would change the setting itself when its plugged into the charger.

Press menu / settings / applications / development and tick the option to stay awake while charging. I've not tried it but I assume it works with car chargers too.

It is in an odd place. They should have put it in sound & display along with the screen timeout settings.
