Newbie
All credit to slipkn0t2012 and Sepero for their work on this for the Motion. I tested this on the Spirit and it works fine.

WARNING: Use any software remover with caution. The files are deleted permanently. Here is the guide for reflashing your firmware if needed:
[GUIDE] Unbrick LG Spirit/Unroot/Getting to 1.5GHz [KDZ]

STEPS TO USE:

This Guide requires your phone is ROOTED. It will delete many files that generally do not come with a stock Android phone.
Download the script remove_bloat.sh to your phone.
Download Script Manager from the google play store.
Start Script Manager.
Select "Browse as Root" button.
When Script Manager asks for Root Permissions, grant yes allow.
Navigate to the remove_bloat.sh file and tap on it to see a menu.
Select the top icon labeled "Su"
Press the button on the top-left that says "Run".

The script will run, and immediately reboot your phone. Once your phone turns back on, all the unnecessary pre-installed apps will have been deleted.

You can download a copy of all deleted files from here: bloat_backup.zip

I ran this and I kept getting syntax errors. I re downloaded ran again and it said everything failed.

I think i got it working, my installed app list is conciderably smaller. I downloaded with opera the second time and the same file is a different size so maybe it was just a bad download the first time. Also in the script program, i changed advanced settings to RW. It went so quick, I didn't get to see what it removed lol, then it rebooted.

I just de-bloated another Spirit using Metro Web to download the script w/o a hitch. I'm sorry y'all are having difficulties. Make sure you use Playstore to download the Script manager apk. For the initial first prompt when opening the app choose "Browse as Root" button, as there is also some option for widgets. Then select "allow" for permissions, and continue to follow instructions from OP.:D

I just used this script, and can confirm that it works 100%

For best results download the script to your PC then transfer to your phone from PC and follow the OP instructions.

For my personal use I made some changes in the script to not remove certain apps I wanted to keep like....
---youtube
---rhapsody
---lg on-screen phone
....and some other apps I can't remember.

I suggest opening the script and looking through the apps and removing off the list the apps you want to keep then just hit save.

Thanks GT,
What do you use to open the script with? Looked at it in notepad and don't know enough to attempt anything there.

Thanks again...........Tom

I don't remember if windows can be used to modify this file... I did this on linux.

If you like, make a post with the apps that you would like to keep and I'll remove them from the script and post a link for you.

Thank you........only thing I'm sure of is I want to get rid of all Metro apps, I think. Have to learn what all the others are. I wonder if I should just take it slow (very difficult:D).
I have Titanium Backup installed. Should I just freeze the apps I don't want?

Really appreciate all the help I have gotten here.

Freezing apps is completely safe. If you are worried about bricking your phone just freeze apps.

Go to this link here and follow this to disable and uninstall stock apps with the built in app manager, this way if you decide you want the apps back, you'll be able to enable & install them again. For the remainder apps use titanium.

If you change your mind about using the script here's a link to the one I adjusted for myself. The excluded apps are the ones I mentioned previously.

Thanks again guys...:)

I recommend leaving in most of LGs bloatware as most of it is quite useful :) OnScreenPhone, quick memo, memo, etc..

Has anyone had trouble getting the 'New Message Popup' after deleting bloat? I can't get mine working again. The box is checked off in messaging settings. I suppose I could run the restore tool, but it would be more helpful if someone else was having the same problem before I do that. :)

I don't get the popup either after debloating. I'm gonna look through the script and try to find the apk to make the adjustment then I'll share the adjusted script.

I restored, rerooted, popups were working, installed this script and now they aren't working again, and theres a little more bloat leftover, which apk did you find? Maybe it can be installed manually...
I give up with this script... The mms seems to be linked to some other apk that I can't find, and it would take too long to find it. I'm just gonna go old school and debloat manually after I restore my CWM backup.

Thanks for testing.

This is bugging me lol. Has to be something tied in the system > app folder. I'll play with it again tomorrow. I really love the little popup texts.
