Help Automatically saving email attachments to gallery?

[bmcsteve99]

Hi Everyone,

With my exchange activesync mail when I view an attachment it automatically saves the picture to the gallery. Is there a way to keep the phone from doing this? Thanks

Yes, but you might not want to... The phone stores attachments in the "Download" directory of whatever storage place you select (Phone, Internal, External) in settings, and you can make any directory not show up in the Gallery by adding an empty file called ".nomedia" to the directory which will cause Gallery to skip indexing that folder. Problem is that lots of other apps use the Download folder too, like the web browser.
