Autotext/Autocorrect in Handcent

Coming from a BB, one of the biggest things I'm noticing is the lack of being able to set up a list of automatic typing corrections, for example you type im and it corrects to I'm when you hit the spacebar. In Handcent, there is a list of Sys Autotext in the Auto text setting menu, and im is in there, but it doesn't work with either the physical or virtual keyboard.

Is there a system wide setting that I'm missing (I searched, but couldn't find one). Does anyone have any insight?

I think I've answered my own question. The app Smartkeyboard seems to be doing the trick for me. It has a Custom Autotext dictionary that is very similar to the Autotext function on the BB.
