Available storage space

I saw that same stat and was a bit shocked. On the other hand, $50 for the jump from the 16GB model to the 32GB model is trivial. If I do buy this tablet it will certainly be the 32GB model, even if it is possible to remove some of the 'bloatware' that is installed on the device.

Kind of midway between London and the south coast. We tend to get ripped off here in the UK, so they just switch a $ sign for the

We are familiar with the rate of exchange. My wife has cousins who were in Hastings and now live in Romney Marsh and another who lives near Wimbledon. We are in Italy and will spend one day in Wimbledon on the way home. Hopefully we'll get together with cousins.

I have no idea why your prices are so much higher. I do know that the taxes we pay for flying through London are almost as high as the airline tickets used to cost. I know that governments rely on taxes for income, but it seems to us that this is a case of killing the goose that lays the golden egg. Talk about discouraging tourism.

I started a similar thread on the Galaxy Note 3 forum asking how much space they have. Apparently the 32GB model has 25GB available space. One of the replies suggested that a retailer's display model will be loaded up with software, videos etc to demonstrate the device, and this will not reflect what the consumer gets out of the box. I can only hope that this may be an explanation for the huge 14.5GB mentioned in the article above - that device was obviously not a retailer's display model, and presumably was a pre-release version.

I hope you are right! having only 14.5 GB left over would be crazy on a 32GB model...doable but crazy none the less:(

Well I guess I'll find out on Oct 10 when these things start appearing in people's hands in the States. Fingers crossed...

It seems one retailer in the US started shipping these tablets a few days ago, and some lucky chaps already have their new tablet. Have a look at this link on xda-developers:

Note 10.1 -2014 Edition Shipped! - Page 12 - xda-developers

On the 32GB version the system files take up around 6GB and the user has just less than 24GB available for use. Presumably the same would be true of the 16GB version, leaving us around 8GB.
