Root avast! and "Smart Device Manager" help

I finally got me avast! antivirus but the anti theft said that the apk "Smart Device Manager" is an incompatible sms tool and that it will prevent it too work properly and that i need to uninstall it.
But when i tested the remote lock on there website it worked ok, but what is the smart device manager apk? should i uninstall it or is it a vital sysetem app?

Smart Device Manager is more Sprint carrier bloatware - a parental controls app, that as far as I know isn't even accessible by anyone even on Sprint (though I could be wrong. It's definitely not accessible by VM users, at the least). If you're on Sleipnir (which I don't think you are, given the post), it was removed both because it's bloat/unusable and because of issues with security apps like Avast!. Avast! will work just fine without it, however, and I haven't had any issues using it (Avast!).

TL;DR Go ahead and can it. It is not vital by any means.

EDIT: Even it's .apk filename is ridiculous: LG_LS840_Cayman-SmartDeviceManager_3_1_1D2012_02_11t17_03-Final-UPDATE_2_21_2012.apk

Yeah. That's the full name. That's why I have it shortened in the middle with [...] in the Guide to Removing Stock Apps. Which actually would be a good reference to use if you're curious about any other apps :) Check it out here.
 
It's an app that sprint developed which allows parents to set phone up so a teen can't use phone while it's moving. This is supposed to prevent texting and driving. I know it's useless on vm phones and I have yet to see it working on a sprint phone. It's junk
