Average discharge rate ?

QUIXOS

Newbie
Hi all,

I have had my GN2 for one week and am very happy with it. I have noticed that the phone will discharge at a slightly faster rate than I expected when left on during the day with wifi on / 3G on ,...no background apps.

I dont have any exact figures, but it seems similar to my iphone 3GS. I can get around 6.5 hours of 'screen time' which I think is good, but not spectacular.

I have seen people screenshots of 24 hours of use with around 7-8 hours of screen time. I never understand how phones like the GN2 are supposed to get several hundred hours of standby time ?...thats weeks with the phone on and without it being charged ?...what gives..

it relies on minimal screen brightness, not being used (ie standby only), all the options and wifi/sync etc off.

Using the device as solely a phone the battery does give quite high usage so long as you have a strong signal.

I'm currently at 87% after nearly 5 hrs on battery on network. It lasts a full 24 hrs with reasonable use. Finally the manufacturers are listening to customers!

took mine out of the charger 6.30 am and it's now 12.20 and battery is down to 93% light use and only one phonecall, only had the phone since Friday but am already quite impressed with how good batteri life is compared to the HTC Desire HD I had before

It might have been background processes running . It appears to discharge at around 1 percent every 55-60 minutes with WiFi on and 3G as normal.

I am happy with this.

Does anyone know how to turn on invert colours on Chrome ?...I have it on in the menus, all the free apps I see that do this on the google play store simply invert ALL colours on a website, I just want white on black backgrounds with normal pics etc.

I use Battery defender and Advanced Task Manager, these help keep the battery up, the task manager stops lots of apps every hour, I just let it keep a few open, eg Kaspersky. The battery thing shuts down WiFi overnight and when the phone has not been used for a while. I took it off charge last night at 10pm, and plugged it in at 6.30pm, after doing quite a few things on it, and it was down to 80%, which I think is quite tidy (as they say in South Wales)
