AVG Help please

Just got my 10.1 oh what fun learning a new operating system

Wanted to install AVG free version, downloaded the file but it didnt auto run and when I clicked on it message said cannot open file.

Would it work if I d/l the file to an sd card and opened it from there or is there another solution.

This will probably be the first of many questions.

You really dont need anti virus unless you are downloading content outside of the market. Did you download AVG from google play?

Fully agree. Common sense and not downloading pirated apps is all you need

I don't quite agree. Additionally, you may want to consider avast!.

AVG or avast! will install directly from the Play store. In Android, you don't need to download a file, then launch it; the store handles all that.

I have AVG on my Note10.1, downloaded from Playstore and installed automatic.
I did place the App on one of the desktops just to play around with it.
i tap on it now and it opens, enter the settings to fix it like you want.
When I download anything it scans them automatically and says they are safe.

My policy is to use anti virus systems, even use it on my Mac Book Pro (always have).
To many nasties out there in the big wide world.

Thanks everyone. I feel happier knowing I have avg running even though I am careful. I will now go to google play and get it.

Obviously have a lot to learn
