Help Awake Time Question

What exactly is Awake Time? I know it sounds like a dumb question, but I thought it was the time the phone is in use between reboots/power offs.

Yesterday my Awake Time was 19 hours before I put the battery on charge for the night. This morning its at 21 hours after the phone spontanously rebooted on its own. (I just love that feature... NOT!!!). I was also suprised that my Uptime is like at 221 hours after a couple of reboots or power downs.

Obvisouly my assumptions of what Awake Time and Uptime are incorrect.

Uptime is the amount of time your phone has been on, since the last reboot. Awake time is the time your phone is actually doing something, checking email, communicating with towers, downloading things. Awake time should be very low compared to uptime. If you are getting a high awake time, that means something is running while your phone is in your pocket, and using battery. You can use apps like Spare Parts or System Panel to see what apps are running while your phone should be asleep.
