i know, duh, why did i choose the Epic then? well, the slider keyboard was not my #1 reason for choosing the Epic. the slider was really a bonus and fun to use once in a while.

well, a recent android article really got me thinking (link below), then i remembered another member started a thread linking to a video showing keyboard shortcuts in all it's glory.

WOW!!! i have a new fondness for my slider keyboard now. so, now that i am enamored with my slider, here are some tips i gathered to share:

this may have just convinced me to get an epic over an evo!

No way,,, My wife has the Epic, I have an EVO, I'm glad I didn't get the Epic. She was able to upgrade 2 weeks before I was, so I got a chance to play with her phone for a while. No way I'd get the Epic.

How would you do this on the keyboard?
Shift-Trackball-Left/Right: Highlight text for cutting or copying

I got it to work from gmail with:

Hold Shrift-Yellow Fn key then touch with finger and drag to highlight text. It automatically copies to clip board.

the fn key doesn't work like an alt key on my Epic. e.g., fn-backspace combo does just what backspace does--deletes character to the left of the cursor.
