Please explain how you added a $10 fee and ended up paying the same as you are now. Did they cancel the fee for you or something? If they didn't, then I don't see how you can add a fee and end up paying the same (unless you downgrade your plan).

I pay $80.81 a month....but I subscribe to a Sprint TV station....so knock $3.45 off that number

By the way, your attitude of "either pay it or go somewhere else" is clearly NOT the way Sprint felt about my business- since they have already agreed to credit me back the FOUR Evo fees every month for as long as I am getting charged Evo fees.

I'm glad the St. Louis tower is going up right now, you guys helped me stay on course getting this phone.

There are towers up and functioning in STL right now... I'm using them on my EVO; >3 Mb/s up and about 1 MB/s down. Not 10x 3G, but decent.

Everyone - I updated the site (Explain the Fee!) with the following and more:

If the "Premium Data" charge is not for the 3G nor 4G network access and the charge is for the phone features,why is it that all of the "Premium Data" features are listed as technical specifications of the HTC EVO 4G phone? If I were to take this phone to a non-Sprint area, such as the south pole, would those "Premium Data" features work, such as the 4.3" screen, HD Camera/Camcorder, faster processor, and even kickstand? Would I be able to use these features in Airplane mode?If I can use those in a non-Sprint area or in Airplane mode, why must I pay $10 a month to use this "add-on" when I'm not using Sprint's data network? Can you please explain the fee?

T-Mo also has the HD2, with cheaper plans. And they will soon have the Galaxy S, with cheaper plans.

HD2 is irrelevant because of WinMo. Galaxy is a viable alternative, but we have yet to see what the pricing will be on Even More Plus. So it may be cheaper, it may not be. Regardless, my previous statement holds true at this point in time.

It's funny how you're complaining about the others when you have a 25% discount, not to mention a $20 service credit.

I'd love to see you be as complacent and happy without those.

It's almost like a rich kid telling the poorer kids to stop complaining because they can't eat steaks, yet you have a chef personally cook you some =P.

$10 is $10 if added to $30 or $70. I'm talking about the whiners about extra fee, which is $10.

It will be interesting to see if the new Android devices on Sprint will all be 4G devices with the $10 fee...my guess is yes. If Sprint were to launch a new, somewhat similar, Android phone (Galaxy, etc.) w/o the fee I would think long and hard about selling my new EVO and purchasing the new device....saving $240 over the life of the contract.

I do mind being treated like I'm an idiot.

Basically from Sprint's PR materials they make it seem like the $10 fee is for features of the phone itself. $10 is $240 over a 2 year contract.

They are basically charging $240 more for the phone.

If the EVO was being released at $689 instead of $449 (OOC) then I bet a lot of the people saying the fee is ok would see things differently.

It is basically a sales / marketing tactic for people who can't do math.

It is just corporate America treating customers like they are morons; just like how grocery items are shrinking but the price remains the same. Just raise the price and keep it the same size. Don't treat me like an idiot. It's called inflation. Worked for the last couple thousand years.

Okay, so Sprint's charging $240 more over the life of the contract if you use $70 as the baseline. Now use $70 as the baseline for the other carriers and see how much more they are charging for theirs. How any of this is "treating you like an idiot" I have no clue.

Because they claim the $10 is for features that are basically hardware specs of the phone. If that is the case then just charge $240 more for the phone.

If they flat out just said it was for 4G access then I'd be fine with that.
