Root B&N nook color Android SD Card issues

Hey guys, im writing this in hopes to be able to assist my manager at work with her Nook Color she just purchased. She wants to run android from the sd card and purchased one of the SD Cards off Amazon to do so.

She brought it to work and i put it in the Nook and it wouldnt boot from the sd card.. it was as thought it wasnt even trying.

I did a bit of Google searching and found some articles claiming that its no longer possible to do this with the Nook Color if it is running OS 1.4 or higher.
Is this true?

if so, could anyone tell me how to get this done? she doesnt want to root and installed the OS to the tablet yet for warranty concerns right now.

Is it possible to roll the stock OS back to a earlier version or something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are Nook Tablets and Nook Colors and you have to have the right card for the unit. If there's a microphone hole opposite the earphone jack at the top, you have the Tablet. Sounds like you have the wrong overpriced card.

OK, i checked her Nook and it has the mic just to the left of the headphone jack on the top..

can you point me in the right direction for the files i need to put Android on the SD Card and getting it working for her?

Thanks in advance!
