Has anyone gotten it to work? What did you do to make it work?
The trick for me was restarting my phone beforehand. Restart your phone and then immediately open KingRoot (don't do anything else) and try to root. It should work on the first try, however the temp root will only last for a couple minutes. At your own risk, flash TWRP 2.8.6.0 before root goes away using the apk file provided in the stickies (I read somewhere that flashing anything on a B13 phone is currently a risk, so beware). Then flash SuperSU through TWRP for permanent root.
EDIT: If your temp root went away before you could flash TWRP, you will need to restart your phone to temp root it again (which happened to me).
Actually flashing is simple.
Before you flash a ROM you need to downgrade the modem firmware to B06. And then flash the ROM of your choosing.
Here is the link to B06

Okay! Well I'm still gonna update the vendor filesI already have it installed. All I had to do is flash the B06 modem firmware. Masterchief helped with that. Runs flawlessly.
Yes. You need to flash the B06 modem Firmware if you have any plans on flashing a custom rom or you will not be able to make or receive calls or have a data connection outside of Wifi. If you drop back to Stock you must flash the B13 modem firmware. Here is the link for the B13 Modem firmware.

The modem is stored on its own partition and is not backed up or restored by twrp. Whenever you go back to stock you have to flash the correct modem for your firmware version and if you are going to use a custom ROM you'll need to flash the older modem. You don't have to flash the modem again to switch ROMs though because all the ROMs use the same modem and it will persist between installs. Thanks! Just restored my Broken OS backup and flashed the B06 modem firmware afterwards, works perfectly. Question, is the modem firmware stored in a backup? Or will I have to flash B13 modem firmware after restoring one of my stock backups?

You would need the b22_modem that goes along with the b22 stock ROM. If you already flashed the b22 modem then you don't need to flash it again.Ok, so let's say I want to go back to stock T-Mobile (B22) which modem would I need to flash? (I'm on AICP 5.1.1)
