Root Back to Stock for Update- Help!

So I learned the update won't work if any bloatware was removed (which I did). Lesson learned and will freeze using TIBU moving forward.

But now I have to get my phone back to stock.

I've read that 928droid's "Droid X Official OTA 2.2 Froyo 2.3.15 "Back to Stock" zip will do that. It's downloaded on my SDCard root.

How do I use that zip file now? Any help is greatly appreciated!

You have the Odex back to stock version downloaded right?

If you have Rom manager installed, get into it and "Install ROM from SD Card", find your file, click it, no need to back up or wipe, click ok and it will do it's thing.

Once your booted backup up, the update should work.

If you don't have rom manager, you'll have to do the same in clockworkmod via bootstrap recovery.

If it's like any other update.zip you will need to boot into recovery. format system. mount system. then apply. You can also get the OTA through update.zip format here you'll just need to rename it to update.zip. flash same way as I just mentioned. This will take you to 2.3.340 and bootloader 30.04

Trying it now... will update.

ETA: Ok, used ROM Manager with clockwork to install the .zip file. It reboots and seems like its doing something, but not sure it did. How do I know if it worked? I looked in the app drawer and none of the original bloatware apps are there.
