Back to stock software

Hi folks,

I am in need of a little advice. I am totally new to rooting or modding my phones. Currently I am working for a UK mobile operator who is dragging their feet a little with releasing the ICS upgrade.

Today a colleague, who knows far more about all this than I do, was going to root my phone and upgrade it to ICS, I think that's right anyway. Part way through doing that he was called back to his normal office for a major emergency.

My phone is working but not on ICS and on reboot I get a big yellow triangle, is there anyway I can reset the phone back to the stock KI4 build and then wait for the official release of ICS by the network ?

Any help and advice is much appreciated.

Rooting will give you that triangle. You can remove it by getting a USB jig off ebay (providing the firmware he flashed has the old bootloader)

Ironass is correct. However if you want to go totally back to your original setup, you may want to flash your carrier branded firmware

As already mentioned, the triangle is nothing to worry about. Rather than jumping in and reverting back, you may want to continue your rooted experience. Ironass spends most of his time drinking heavily (or should I say "modem testing") and chasing cheese down hills (when he hasn't been kicked in the foot by a horse), but he has however served some purpose on here by writing a slightly above average rooting guide for dummies

It may be worth looking through that guide before you decide on going back to your stock setup.

Sorry, of course, you work for a mobile operator... so you'd want your own carrier's firmware back on... I guess! (unless of course you want to get rid of all the, "bloatware", that operators tend to stick on. ;) )

Talk about a back-handed compliment! :p

HI guys,

Sorry for not replying earlier, have been trying to earn some brownie points with the missus before I blow them going out with the lads for the local rugby teams St Patricks day game.

I am not too worried about having an official operator build, I just figured it would make life easier when the ICS update is released. Then again the main purpose was to get ICS onto the phone early so I guess I will take a read through the forums and look into it.

Thanks for the assistance.
