Help Back to stock :(

Ive been running a rooted S2 + Cyanogenmod nightlies for a little while, but i just got fed up of the bugs and decided that the thing that makes me enjoy using my phone the most is the launcher. (Currently Nova Launcher)..

So i decided to revert back to my carriers stock rom now that ICS was officially out : I9100XWLP3_I9100O2ULP4_O2U

The main issue i have is that when i put the phone in silent mode, it doesnt mute everything.. seems to only mute the Phone Ringtone and system. The notifications doesnt get muted unless i manually do it.

So whilst at work i want to be able to quickly slide down the face of phone, select silent and feel confident that i can go into a meeting and phone wont make a sound.

This isnt a problem on my S3 running stock.
Because of this im almost tempted to go back to Cyanogenmod unless anyone knows of a solution for this problem.??

I use this app called volume ace. I set up profiles for volume configuration with one tap and the widget is placed at the homescreen.

Are you using volume ace because you were experiencing the same problem as ive described ?

IN Cyanogenmod this was beautifully handled, not sure why volume profiles aren't available by default in stock firmware.

I used volume ace because it was easier than adjusting volume. For example when it rings and you use the volume buttons, it effects the ringer but not others. For media, you have to be playing something. So instead I use profiles where I can control how loud each volume element I want. When in a meeting, I set it to have zero volume for media, but very soft for ringer and notification (slightly louder than ringer) so I can hear it but others can't.

Its just for simplification and control.

As for notifications, I think there is a setting where the notification volume is tied to the ringer somewhere. Just have to select it.

But I thought using widgets for volume control was cooler.... and easier.
