back up app

Hi,
I'm thinking of buying a new phone. What is the best app to use to back up my apps and messages and reinstall them in the new phone?

Also I believe your paid apps should be automatically be in your app trey when you activate your new phone?

thank you in advance

The new playstore app has a list of all the apps you have ever downloaded and list of all the ones you have installed so you could use that list to install them all. What phone are you getting? When i activated my galaxy s3, it had an option to automaticly download all the apps that were installed on my previous phone

Normally, if you have the options to keep a backup of your phones apps on Google servers (somewhere in the phones settings should be "back up my data, back up account, and automatic restore) on your current phone, then when you get your new phone and log in to your Google account it should begin the download process from the Play store. Most phone carriers will even set that up for you when you purchase your phone (if you're doing it at a physical store).

MyBackup Pro is the best for non-rooted phones that I know of. Backs up to your external SD card. There's also 99 MB (I think) free cloud storage, but more than that and you have to pay.

I bought My Backup Pro a while back (i honestly dont remember why i went from Titanium to MBP but i must have had a reason)
Anyway, i dont wana say that mybackup is bad because other things could have caused it but a MyBackup failed for me when i really needed it, the file was corrupt :(
But mybackup works on unrooted phones like i think someone said. It just wont save app's data (app settings, game progress..) without root access

Titanium is my app of choice. The ability to sync with drop box or create a flashable zip of all your apps and their data rock

Yup. Although it might not have been mybackup's fault in my case, i lost faith in it so went straight back to Titanium.
The Rom Toolbox dev is trying to compete with Titanium though so thats maybe something worth watching

I prefer 5 apps that do 1 job and do it well rather than the "jack of all trade" applications that are out there.

Personal preference of course, but thats my view.

Yeah im probly the same mate

Having said that, the rooting community is a minority and of that community, probably the majority of new rooters want the 'swiss army knife approach' to modding etc
