Help Background Audio App

I turn my media volume up to full because I use the alarm clock app in the morning and I listen to music in the car. But I always hate accidentally blasting my ear drums with headphones forgetting that the media volume is full, and only being able to change it when there is media playing.

Is there an app that will run in the background and automatically turn down the media volume when it detects something plugged into the audio jack? It would be the savior of my hearing.

the alarm function does have its own volume control that seems to be independent from the device's media volume. i keep my media volume at a reasonably low rate, and never have a problem hearing my alarm in the morning. i'm certain if you turn up the alarm volume, it won't be lowered by the media volume, they are independent settings.

I use Timeriffic to do all my audio level adjustments

I'm using a different alarm app, not the stock android one.

I looked at timeriffic, but I don't need timers for audio. Thanks though.

I really just want my audio to mute or get quieter when something is plugged into the jack.

Try AudioManager. Works awesome! I've used it on my G1 and now on my Vibrant.

yeah i know that but he said he uses custom alarm clock app and not the stock one im just wondering why he wouldnt use the stock one cuz it works fine for me and im a heavy sleeper
