Background data always on since ICS.

Anyone else having those problem?

I have switched it to off in the reliant setting but my store is still active and im still getting messages through on Facebook.

I use the mobile data widget built into Juice Defender Ultimate. Before the update even with mobile data switched off in settings I would sometimes notice it had turned back on for no reason. I like to keep it off as I live in a 3G dead zone and it really kills my battery with it on. The only way I managed to keep it off was with the Juice Defender widget. Whenever I use that it stays off and has never switched itself back on.

What do you precisely mean by 'background data' - do you mean mobile data?

That's what I assumed.

If you switch mobile data off then you can't get online at all.

If you switch of background data then you can be online but you can't use stuff like Facebook messenger, the app store, have souncloud alert you or talk messenger.


Apparently leaving that on and your location access on drains the battery as much as anything as your phone is always thinking.
