looking for ways to save battery! i usually have background and auto sync on. i like having my apps updated automatically (news, weather), getting gmail and exchange email pushed, and getting whatsapp messages immediately!
but i was doing some reading, and im wondering wat the Autosync setting actually does? doesnt push mail, news updates and whatsapp etc work with background data on? is Autosync just for google stuff, like contacts and market installs?
secondly, if im right and autosync doesnt do that much, would leaving background data ON and auto sync OFF save much battery? i know there are other posts on the difference between the two but i couldnt really get an answer to these exact questions, thanks!
