Help Backing up and restoring

Hey hopefully someone can help me. I downloaded a app onto my phone and I think I have a virus. The phone is constantly freezing and its running super slow. I want to do a full restore but I'm affraid ill lose everything. if I backup my phone with backup assistant does it only backup phone contacts? Also if I move apps onto my sd card, will they be deleted with the restore? What can I do about my pictures on my phone? Thanks

Have you tried just deleting the suspected app? That could solve your problem right there.

Backup assistant will only backup your contacts. I'd also recommend syncing your contacts with Google as well.

A restore will not do anything to your SD card. Your pictures are also saved on the card in the dcim folder. While you won't lose any of your apps on the SD card doing a full restore, you will lose their data. You will have to reinstall all of your apps. If you are rooted that's a different story as there are apps that can back up the data too.

Unfortunately, no. The OS severely restricts how much access apps have to each other. This is why users who are serious about app data backup are rooted. At this point, all I can recommend is to slog through your apps with the most important data and see if they can individually export their info your sd card, which again isn't affected by factory resets
