Help Backing up contacts

Davi

Newbie
Ive just downloaded the contact2sim app and I was wondering if once ive copied my contacts to the sim will it be safe to update my phone to 1.6 without losing them all.
Also how do I connect to google mail when I click the icon it says "your email will appear shortly" but nothing happens.

thanx

Your contacts should be synced with your google account so there should be no need to backup to sim.

That's right.
Unless you're going back to a dummy phone (why would anyone go back from a smartphone to a dummy is a mystery to me), or a non android phone (not sure about this one).

so how do I sync my phone contacts, ive followed the instuctions and all I get on my phone is "you email will appear shortly" but nothing happens

the PC web based gmail contacts app allows you to export contacts too a file, so once they do sync, just export a backup copy and store that safe. you can then for example use this file in other (pc) apps

I do this evey now and again in case google or myself stuff up my contacts

the problem with syncing with google account is it repeats every contact twise, so I have to manually remove every doubled contact. did I mentioned that it's very ****ing annoying? and the contact2sim doesnt want to work for some reason.

Mine doesn't, but if it does that it's very easy to remove the duplicates through the gmail web interface.

hmm.... I'll give it a try next time, thanks. I still would prefer the good alled trusted way of being able to put it to SIM.

Backing up contact is rarely necessary i had lg phone i went out of order i have change the cellphones when i took out the sim card from old phone all phone data gone to air it was so ridiculous i wanted all data .
