Help Backing up data from 'Safe mode'?

Hello,

my Desire became unusable the other day. I pulled it out of my pocket, it had restarted and asked for the PIN. Then it would boot up, show a crash message (something about ColorNote application stopped running unexpectedly), and then restarted by itself. It would then ask for my PIN again, booted up, crashed and restarted, and so on and on...
As far as I can remember, it hadn't fallen on the ground for at least a month or so, and has never been dipped in watter, nor it has ever been rooted.

Yesterday it started doing something different (after I took out my SIM card, which btw. works fine in another phone). It boots up, but always in 'Safe mode' (it says so in the lower left corrner). I don't know why, and don't know how to get out of it. It seems that the volume down key is not responsive, since there is no change in the volume after pushing it (unlike volume up key).

I'm considering taking it to the provider cause it's still under warranty, but I don't want to lose my data. How can I backup messages and application data? Phonebook was easy since it had implemented 'Export' option, but there is no such thing in messaging, and you cannot run 3rd party apps in safe mode...

Also, I tried googling alot, but can't find anything similar that happened to anyone else.

If you have any ideas, please help...

Thank you in advance,
Ivan.

Hi!

I wonder if you figured out how to solve this problem. I have the same one and I cannot find a way how to deal with it.

Cheers,
Nataliel
