Backing Up Handcent with images and attachments

Is there a way to back up handcent text messages with the attached photos? I need to upgrade my wifes Hero for her and she wants these saved and restored to 2.1 when I am done with the upgrade. I have searched but only found text only backups not with photos. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks guys!

Seems to me, the easiest way to save the texts/MMS she wants is for her to forward the desired texts to you and the after updating you can forward them back.

To forward, long press. Good luck!

I hope there's an easier way . Not so easy, that's a lot of forwards . She has hundreds and hundreds of text messages. Thank you for the suggestion though...
