Help Backing up nandroid to cloud

funkylogik

share the love peeps ;)
Quick question guys. Can i zip a nandroid and upload it to box then when I download and unzip it itl be fine?
Cheers

Absolutely.

But be sure to use a proper zip that can handle that big of a load. That's the sticking point.

Nandroids are already collections of containers - I skip the zip and just upload the whole folder structure for each nandroid.

Yeah it wouldn't let me upload it uncompressed mate. I'm using ES to compress it. Think thatl be OK?

That might work - take a screen shot of the folder properties (long press the folder) - zip - unzip somewhere else - folder properties - if the number of bytes is not exactly the same, don't trust it.

Agh failed to compress due to lack of storage.
I'm just gonna factory reset then backup the current rom

Ok - FOUND IT! :)

This is what you want -

Check out "ZArchiver"

See this -

Set that to No compression.

It won't jerk around your nandroid trying to add compression, it'll just drop everything into a single container file.

Old Linux trick. ;) :)
