Help Backing Up (non root)

I'm probably going to swap out my Fascinate since the power button is sunk in - I've compared between two phones and it's a noticeable difference. The battery is dropping on average of 2-5 percent faster than an identically setup Fascinate as well. So I'm trying to exchange it in my 30 day window.

So the question is, being non-root, what can I do to ensure the most stuff is transferred over properly? Rooted phones seem to have more options from what I read, due to having access to the restricted partition.

Already did a backup of the contacts via Verizon's utility. Not sure if it's both phone and google or not...

Got Astro File Manger (free) and backed up the apps to the SD card.

Anything I'm missing?

Your contacts and paid apps are linked to your google account so they ll sink up....also copy everything on your sdcard to your computer and you should be gtg

I figured the phone based contacts (had to create/link a ton of them for ringtones) would not synchronize with google.. but that's good to hear.

ah...phone based and not google...yes they will *NOT* sync....thats why i only make google ones :o

but you can back them up to your sdcard in vcf format in contacts though through import/export....and then import them back in by copying them to your new sdcard

Thanks, that will help. Don't feel like recreating all that mess.

Just as an FYI, Android Manager has an all inclusive backup option too... but it saves to a proprietary format I think. You can't just pick files out of the backup.
